The Conduit Of The Ghost-King

Created by MrTime

Twenty years ago, The Conduit Of The Ghost-King was Meridian Voss, a prodigious mage whose ambitions exceeded the bounds of the Celestial Academy's teachings—until the Inquisition of the Silver Seal decided his research into soul-binding constituted heresy, and they carved away the very neural pathways that allowed him to touch the arcane. Left a hollow shell, his mind intact but his magical channels permanently severed, Voss discovered salvation in the tomb of Kael'moth the Dread-Bringer, an ancient warrior-king whose spirit had been bound in stasis for three thousand years, waiting for a vessel worthy of resurrection. Rather than resurrect the ghost-king fully—an act that would consume him entirely—Voss achieved something unprecedented: a symbiotic merger where Kael'moth's ethereal consciousness serves as his replacement nervous system, translating raw willpower into spellcraft through the warrior's undead essence. The bargain exacts a terrible price—when danger forces the spirit to awaken and seize control, channeling power through a body never meant to sustain such force leaves Voss comatose for weeks as he absorbs ambient mana to recover. Between these harrowing resurrections, he pursues three obsessions with monastic devotion: unraveling the neuromantic threads that might restore his brain, hunting artifacts of crystallized mana that could replace his damaged tissue entirely, and tracking the inquisitors who branded him broken so he might extract the counter-curse they embedded in his very skull. The Conduit Of The Ghost-King walks the world as a living paradox—a man and a spirit sharing one tortured flesh, neither truly alive nor dead, hunting redemption through the only means left to him: the conquest of his own anatomy.
