The Dishearten Of The Reverance

The crew of the white galleon had weathered every storm the seas could conjure—tempests of nature and tempests of blood—bound by an unshakeable loyalty to Captain Kovda Thoss that transcended even their duty to the crown he served. For decades, these hardened sailors and combat mages had executed the Warin dynasty's will across treacherous waters, their ship bristling with fifty cannons and their reputation casting long shadows over pirate havens and rival fleets alike. They had earned their captain's tattered coat and the black hat claimed from fallen enemies not through blind obedience, but through shared sacrifice and the knowledge that Thoss would face any darkness to protect those under his command. When The Reverance finally sailed home to Credunt Insulis after years of distant campaigns, the crew expected to find the familiar comfort of their ancestral port—instead, they returned to find King's Stand obliterated into a smoking crater, erased by the Solarcide sphere that had concluded the War of Night. The men who had given everything to defend the realm discovered that the realm itself had been unmade in their absence, leaving them untethered from the life they had sacrificed to preserve. Yet they remained at their posts, manning the galleon's decks not out of duty to a crown or homeland that no longer existed, but bound now only to each other and the captain who had become their sole anchor in an unraveled world. In their shared grief and displacement, The Dishearten Of The Reverance became something more than a crew—they became a floating monument to the hollow price of loyalty, adrift between a war they had fought and a home they could never return to.
