As her life drained away among the twisted vines and razor-sharp brambles, the forest itself—ancient and sentient—chose to save her by binding her essence to its oldest thorns, transforming her into something neither fully human nor entirely plant. The process was agonizing and incomplete, leaving her appearance wild and overgrown, her hair like tangled roots and her skin studded with crystalline thorns that grew from within her very being. She discovered that her thorns carried the forest's curse: anyone foolish enough to pierce their skin on her barbs would fall into an eternal slumber, their consciousness trapped in dreams of the forest's deepest memories.
