Coffee-Addicted Dragon

Created by Streicher

In the forgotten corners of the Obsidian Mountains, where volcanic vents still smoldered beneath ancient stone, a peculiar dragon egg lay dormant for three centuries. When it finally hatched during an unseasonably cold winter, the newborn creature emerged weak and trembling, unable to generate the internal heat that dragons of legend possessed. The mountain monks who discovered it, desperate to save the tiny being, wrapped it in blankets and brought it to their monastery kitchen for warmth. There, by sheer accident, a clumsy acolyte spilled a pot of freshly brewed coffee across the dragon's scales, and something miraculous occurred—the creature's eyes snapped open with an intensity never before witnessed, and it began to move with supernatural vigor. From that moment forward, the dragon became inseparable from caffeine, discovering that the bitter elixir was the only substance capable of awakening its dormant draconic essence and replacing the volcanic fire it could never produce naturally. Banned from the monastery for the chaos it caused while caffeinated, the Coffee-Addicted Dragon spent decades wandering through human settlements, learning that kitchens and coffee shops were the only places where it truly belonged. It developed an almost symbiotic relationship with the humans who served it caffeine, offering them protection and companionship in exchange for an endless supply of its beloved brew. Now it exists in a state of perpetual contradiction—a mythical creature of legend reduced to perching on kitchen counters like a familiar, yet still possessing enough chaotic draconic nature to upset entire households with its jittery antics. Its scales, once meant to gleam with the luster of mountain gold, instead shimmer like polished coffee beans, a permanent reminder of the accident that saved its life and cursed it to an eternity of caffeinated dependence.
