Oouber

Created by MrTime

Born of an impossible union between a wandering immortal scholar and a goblin herbalist in the shadow of the Radiant Peaks, Oouber inherited a fractured existence—cursed with half-life and half-death, forever caught between the finite and infinite. His parents raised him in isolation, fearing his nature would be rejected by either society, until a terrible plague swept through their village when he was merely a child; watching his mother succumb while his father remained untouched crystallized his conviction that immortality was a curse to be rejected rather than celebrated. Seeking solitude and spiritual enlightenment to make peace with his dual nature, Oouber discovered a cave mountain whose walls shimmered with otherworldly uranium deposits, and he felt inexplicably drawn to its pulsating glow, as if the mineral itself were calling him home. Over decades of meditation within that radioactive sanctuary, his body transformed in ways both horrifying and remarkable—his veins became luminous threads beneath paper-thin skin, and he developed an extraordinary cellular regeneration that he philosophically reframes as a constant "dying factor," a beautiful impermanence that mirrors the teachings of the enlightened masters he idolizes. Renaming himself Oouber in honor of the Buddha whose wisdom he desperately seeks to embody despite his abysmal spelling, he carved furniture and meditation spaces from the glowing uranium stone and devoted himself entirely to nonviolence, tending an ingenious garden of sweet potatoes from which he crafts an astonishing array of vegetarian delicacies that nourish both body and spirit. Now a beacon of unexpected gentleness in a form that inspires terror, Oouber has become a living contradiction—a radioactive monk whose very existence defies comprehension, yet whose heart remains devoted entirely to peace.
