The Plane of the Cynics is a bleak and desolate realm where skepticism and doubt reign supreme. This twisted dimension is home to the Dogmen, a race of cynical canine-like humanoids led by the enigmatic Uffruffruff the Argumentative. The Dogmen have long been dissatisfied with the prevailing atmosphere of disbelief and uncertainty that permeates their world, and their restlessness has only grown in the wake of a recent theft. The Orb of Conviction, a powerful artifact, has been stolen, and with it, the Child of Hiirzun - a being with the potential to shatter the plane's deep-rooted cynicism. Sensing an opportunity to reshape their world, the Dogmen have tasked the players with retrieving the Orb and the Child, a quest that will lead them to the city of Skeptic's Snear. Skeptic's Snear is a sprawling, labyrinthine metropolis where suspicion and mistrust are the order of the day. Within its twisted tunnels and shadowy alleyways, the players will encounter a diverse cast of NPCs, including the cunning information broker Ginnivere Dukes and the charismatic performer Ash Hart, both of whom may hold the key to the thief's whereabouts. As they delve deeper into the city's underworld, they'll face treacherous dog packs, rival treasure hunters, and cunning traps set by the enigmatic thief. To succeed in their mission, the players will need to navigate the treacherous Snear's undercroft, avoid the all-seeing Eye of Doubt, and solve puzzles hidden within the ancient texts of this bleak and cynical realm.
