Ariias

Once a celebrated cartographer and mountaineer whose expeditions mapped treacherous peaks that others deemed impossible to traverse, Ariias made a catastrophic discovery in the uppermost caverns of the Shattered Summit—an ancient altar radiating profane energies that promised knowledge beyond mortal comprehension. The pact sealed that day transformed Ariias into something neither living nor dead, their flesh twisted into a grotesque mockery of its former state as the dark powers rewarded their ambition with immortality and terrible hunger. Driven by the inexplicable compulsion of their new existence and the whispers of their eldritch patron, Ariias descended into the mountain's depths where they now wait in shadow, drawn inexorably to the screams of those unfortunate enough to plummet through crevasses and loose stone. The disfigured warlock has become a phantom of the peaks, neither fully human nor beast, sustained by the suffering of the fallen and bound to this cursed place by chains of their own making. Each victim that tumbles into the abyss feeds both Ariias's hunger and their master's appetite for suffering, making the mountain itself an extension of their twisted will. What was once an explorer of worlds has become a predator of the damned, eternally trapped between ambition and damnation.

Ariias targets one creature within 30 ft., forcing them to make a DC 18 Strength saving throw. On a failure, they take 4d10 necrotic damage and are restrained for 1 minute. They can repeat the save at the end of each of their turns.

Whispers of the Abyss

Ariias unleashes a haunting whisper. All creatures within 60 ft. must succeed on a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw or take 3d8 psychic damage and be frightened until the end of their next turn.

Cursed Touch

Melee spell attack against one creature. On a hit, it deals 2d10 necrotic damage and the target must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or be cursed, suffering disadvantage on attack rolls for 1 minute.

Spectral Leap

Ariias can teleport up to 60 ft. to an unoccupied space they can see. After teleporting, they can make one melee attack as a bonus action.

Summon Shadows

Ariias summons 1d4 shadow minions (use Shadow stats) to fight alongside them for 1 minute. They act on Ariias's initiative.

Eldritch Hunger

Ariias regains hit points equal to half the damage dealt to any creature.
