When the region's corrupt duke sought to claim her as a prize, Bruno's carefully constructed restraint shattered like glass, and he executed the tyrant in single combat before burning his bridges to the kingdom forever. Fleeing into the unforgiving peaks with his beloved at his side, he gathered the mountain's forgotten people—deserters, exiles, and lawless brigands—and forged them into something resembling a civilization through sheer force of will and an axe blade that tolerated no defiance.
