Biography

Born beneath the Mirrored Moons of the Silverwood, Orin Verdanthorn was a halfling child who heard voices speaking in perfect reverse, a gift that terrified his village until the eldest druid recognized it as a manifestation of the ancient Balance—a cosmic law that demands all things contain their own opposite. Rather than fear this peculiarity, Orin's parents, both accomplished musicians, crafted him a lute whose strings ran symmetrically from center to edge, teaching him that truth spoken forward must remain truth backward, a philosophy that would define his moral compass forever. As he matured, Orin discovered he could compose ballads of such perfect symmetry that audiences would weep without understanding why, their hearts responding to the mathematical purity underlying each refrain, and he took a sacred oath to use this rare ability only to spread justice and goodness. He learned to pirouette gracefully at the midpoint of every performance, a physical manifestation of the mirror's turn, transforming what could have been a curse into an mesmerizing dance of duality that made even hardened mercenaries question their darker choices. Now Orin wanders the realm as a lawful good bard, believing that order and symmetry are pathways to righteousness, and that every evil act contains within it the seeds of its own undoing if one simply learns to read the world backward. His greatest dream is to compose the ultimate palindromic ballad—one so perfect that singing it will momentarily align the world with the cosmic Balance and prevent some catastrophe he has foreseen but cannot quite articulate.
