Character
Kivah Meir
A paladin of the deity Tyr, god of goodness and justice, Kivah's alignment is lawful good. He is a true believer of the faith. Kivah is a member of the Hammers of Grimjaws, the elite pladins and clerics of the faith who are carefully selected from both the Kights of Holy Judgement who specialize in the lawfulness and justice of their faith, and the Knights of the Merciful Sword who focus on the good and mercy aspect. The difference of the two symbolize the the two sides of their deity, and the Hammers of Grimjaws, the balance of the two. Born to a family of traveling merchants, Kivah enjoyed a venturous life and taking in the sights of the world. As a young man, while traveling between towns, his family was attacked by bandits. Desperate to defend his family, Kivah looked to their goods and found a sword. As he tried to attack a bandit, the man cut Kivah across the face and he fell. Desperate to continue the fight and defend his family, but losing sight of the sword, Kivah grabbed the only other battle weapon he could find; A large round shield. As he weilded it to defend against a blow, it started to shine blue. Spooked by the recent development, the bandits left, leaving Kivah and his family alone. It was this action, being brave in the face of danger and trying to defend the innocent, that turned Tyr's eye to the boy, thus granting him his power. Not long later, a search party of Paladins faithful to Tyr were dispatched by their lord to find the young man and bring him into their faith. Kivah was reluctant, but his parents, who were proud of his actions and understood he had a higher calling, pushed him to follow. Kivah is an averaged sized man with average looks. His defining features are his long wavy white colored hair, a scar on his lower left cheek, left by a bandit in a skirmish, and his bright blue eyes. He weilds a warhammer, a large round shield he's had before joining the faith, and his armor which all bare the symbol of his deity; A pair of balanced scales resting on a warhammer. His shield is enchanted and emits a bright blue glow when Kivah weilds it as well as well as possesses other supernatural abilities. It heals those it touches, though it takes its toll on Kivah's body when performed, and when weilded, can withstand attacks from any evil or dark magic as long as their faith does not outweigh Kivah's. The stronger his faith is, the brighter and more resilient the shield is. His Oath of Devotion is unquestionable. Kivah is a skilled melee weapons master, but his true skill lies in his ability to read his foes fighting patterns, making him a more formidable opponent as the fight progresses. He has a keen insight of someone's word and behaviors, giving him an advantage at detecting truth and lies. A true believer in the teachings of his faith, he has a strong call to justice and to do the right thing, which has sometimes put him in tough situation with those who see otherwise. Though he is never first to engage in an altercation, often attempting to talk down a potential opponent, Kivah does not shy away from battle or taking action when needed. "While on a solo mission to a village in the South of Hyperion, word reaches him that his home, The Temple of Equitas, as well as all of their homes of worship, have been desecrated and fellow brethren slain by an enemy deity's followers. He fears he might be one of few remaining faithful left scattered in the realm, or worse, the last survivor of the faith in all of the kingdom of Fenice. His future is murky. As he once envisioned himself living his days as a priest for justice, spreading the word of his lord, he now has conflicting thoughts. Where pride and peace once filled his heart and mind, now hints of vengeance and doubt emerge as he questions why his god would allow such a massacre of the faithful."
