The Grey Wolf, a spiritual presence woven into the very soul of this realm, serves as guardian of the full spectrum of human emotion—courage and anger, sorrow and humor, compassion and survival instinct alike. At the center stands Hiryū no Tonnerre, a black-iron rapier whose very essence was forged from memory, determination, fencing mastery, and spiritual communion. The tree represents a promise made with a dear friend: to plant an apple seedling there so it could become the “7th island.” Warriors and ancestors train Yūjin endlessly, preparing him for his many “Ragnarok” moments, while the Grey Wolf within his soul watches over courage, anger, sorrow, humor, and compassion. Rather than dividing his nature into light and darkness, Nouvelle Vinland embraces every part of him as one soul. The apple tree symbolizes knowledge and wisdom: knowledge grows like a tree and cannot simply be consumed, for absorbing too much at once brings headaches while leaving the heart unresolved.
