Their bodies were cast into a mass grave with countless others, and for centuries they lay entombed in darkness, their spirits restless and bound together by an oath neither death nor time could sever. When Naxramas clawed his way back to consciousness, freed from the mindless thrall that had enslaved his will, his first thought was of Chillrend. Through forbidden rituals and sheer force of determination, he dragged his beloved companion's essence back from the void, encasing the spectral steed in armor of living shadow and binding his very soul to hooves that burned with the cold fire of the damned.
