Character
Maxym The Prophet
Once a respected scholar of celestial mechanics, Maxym spent decades studying the ancient lunar cycles and their connection to the world's creation myths, until the night he gazed too long upon the moon Sel through a telescope crafted entirely of the ore bearing its name—and something gazed back. The visions that flooded his mind were intoxicating: a divine feminine presence trapped in slumber, her dreams shaping reality itself, her awakening the only path to true perfection. He fashioned a pendant from Sel ore, carved in the image of the goddess who now spoke directly into his soul, whispering that the current world was merely a flawed dream that must be unmade. His congregation grew from the desperate and disillusioned, all drawn to his fervent sermons promising that through the destruction of all life, the goddess would stir from her eternal sleep and birth a pristine cosmos in her image. What Maxym cannot—or refuses to—acknowledge is that the ore itself has become a conduit for something far older and more alien than any goddess, feeding him revelations that grow darker and more apocalyptic with each passing moon. Yet he preaches with absolute certainty, convinced that his role as the Prophet is to shepherd humanity toward this beautiful annihilation, never questioning whether the voice in his head belongs to divinity or something far more sinister wearing divinity's stolen face.
