These palm-sized spherical weapons are forged from dark black metal that radiates residual heat to the touch. The activation mechanism is elegantly simple: twisting the top of the grenade reveals a bright red button beneath. Once pressed, an internal alchemical reaction begins its inexorable countdown, giving the wielder precisely ten seconds before detonation. When the grenade explodes, it unleashes a violent eruption of searing flames and concussive force in all directions. Any creature caught within forty feet of the blast must make a Dexterity saving throw or take 4d8 points of fire and force damage combined. Those who succeed on their save take half damage instead. The grenades are remarkably stable and will not detonate from impact, only from deliberate activation of the red button.
