Biography
The Green Flamingo was once the Emerald Serpent, a master thief whose reputation for impossible heists made him the pride of the Nocturne Guild—until his ambitious rivals decided a dead competitor was preferable to a living legend. They poisoned his wine at the guild's winter gala, and he died choking on silk handkerchiefs they'd forced down his throat as a cruel joke. But something went catastrophically wrong in the city morgue; his corpse began moving on its own, fingers twitching with purpose, eyes snapping open despite the mortician's best efforts to keep them shut. Desperate and horrified, he clawed his way out of the death house and discovered that whatever dark magic or cosmic accident had seized him could only be sustained through a steady regimen of alchemical concoctions purchased from the shadiest corners of the underworld. He reinvented himself as The Green Flamingo—adorning himself in a cape of stolen peacock and parrot plumage to mock the beauty and elegance the guild had tried to bury with him—and now he takes contracts from anyone willing to pay, his every stolen coin funneled into an obsessive quest to find a true cure. Whether driven by spite against those who murdered him, genuine hope for resurrection, or simply the manic joy of a man living on borrowed time and borrowed magic, he pirouettes through the criminal underworld with the reckless flair of someone who has already died once and found it thoroughly disappointing.
