Biography

Sark was born the bastard son of a minor noble and a court seamstress, a fact that sealed his fate to observe power from its periphery rather than inherit it. Raised in the castle's servant quarters, he witnessed firsthand the incompetence of those born into privilege, developing a cutting wit as both shield and sword against a world that deemed him beneath notice. When the current King—then a reckless young prince with more ambition than sense—nearly bankrupted the realm through a catastrophic military campaign, it was Sark, working as a junior clerk, who quietly restructured the finances and prevented total collapse, all while allowing the Prince to believe he'd made a brilliant strategic retreat. The Prince, recognizing either Sark's genius or his utility, elevated him to chief advisor, and for two decades Sark has orchestrated the kingdom's true governance from behind a veil of theatrical disdain, using his sardonic commentary as cover for the intricate web of schemes and alliances he maintains. His loyalty, forged not from genuine affection but from the pragmatic understanding that a dreaming fool with ambition is far easier to guide than an intelligent tyrant, has calcified into something almost resembling devotion—though Sark would sooner smoke himself to death than admit it. The soft grey eyes that mask his skepticism have witnessed enough human folly to know that cynicism is the only honest response to existence, yet somehow, inexplicably, he remains, the kingdom's true architect, forever bound to a man he both despises and, in his own twisted way, protects.
