Character
Asteria
Created by VastDragon5016Born beneath a meteor shower in the highest peaks of the Draconic Reaches, Asteria emerged from her egg bearing scales that shimmered with the luminescence of distant constellations, a phenomenon her clutch-mates could never explain. Her obsession with the heavens began when a traveling scholar taught her that the stars themselves were alive—ancient sentient beings whose light carried messages across the void—and she abandoned her tribe's traditional warrior ways to pursue the arcane study of celestial magic instead. For decades, she apprenticed under a reclusive elf astronomer who had forsaken civilization to commune with the night sky, learning to read the language written in stellar arrangements and to weave the very essence of darkness into potions that granted mortals glimpses of their destiny through dreams. When her mentor mysteriously vanished during a lunar eclipse, Asteria discovered his final journal describing a secret order called the Celestial Nighters, protectors of the balance between the waking world and the realm of nocturnal visions. She sought them out, determined to complete his unfinished work and prevent a coming darkness that threatened to extinguish the stars themselves. Now, as a sworn member of their ranks, Asteria uses her mastery of starlight and her carefully crafted dream-elixirs to guide lost souls toward righteousness and uncover cosmic truths hidden from the daylight world.
