After years of rejection from the scientific establishment and watching weaker men rise to prominence, his obsession twisted into madness, and he retreated to a hidden laboratory where he began harvesting genetic material from the world's most lethal creatures. In a fever of inspired delusion, Thorne injected himself with a volatile serum derived from the predatory essence of the bald eagle and the venomous secretions of poison toads, believing the synthesis would create a being of perfect lethality and dominion. The transformation was agonizing and incomplete—his body warped into a grotesque chimera of muscle, feathers, and warted amphibian flesh that wept caustic toxins—yet Thorne emerged from his chrysalis convinced he had finally achieved apotheosis. Consumed by a feral rage that eclipsed what remained of his humanity, he rechristened himself The Toxic Eagle and began a methodical campaign of destruction against the society that had spurned him, particularly targeting the celebrated hero Man-Man, whose very existence represented everything Thorne despised about conventional strength and virtue. Now he hunts from the skies with the savage cunning of a predator, his genius for scientific warfare married to an animalistic hunger for dominion, seeking to prove that only through transgression and transformation can true power be claimed.
