Character
The False Flash
Born into a life of shadows and bloodshed, the man who would become The False Flash spent two decades as a ghost for hire, completing contracts that legitimate governments denied ever existed, until a catastrophic failure on a mission in Prague left him questioning whether his reflexes—once his greatest asset—were finally deteriorating with age. When a clandestine organization called the Meridian Collective approached him with an offer that seemed too impossible to refuse, they promised not just restoration but transcendence: a chance to volunteer for RDF-12, an experimental kinetic synthesis protocol designed to artificially generate a Speed Force by permanently fusing synthetic energy matrices directly into his cellular structure. The procedure succeeded beyond all projections, shattering the boundaries of his perception as he gained the ability to slip between dimensional barriers at velocities that defied comprehension, yet the artificial nature of his newfound power came with a terrible price—the RDF-12 serum lacked the cosmic harmony that naturally-born speedsters possessed, leaving his neural pathways fractured like broken glass. The benevolent version of himself emerged first, desperate to atone for decades of moral compromise, wielding golden and azure lightning as a reluctant hero; but whenever trauma, rage, or kinetic saturation threatened to overwhelm his fractured psyche, The Apex Calamity clawed its way to dominance, drowning his consciousness in crimson and obsidian fury while his hands became instruments of sadistic destruction. Trapped between two warring identities with no soul binding them together, The False Flash became a paradox—a legendary savior and a nightmare incarnate wearing the same scarred face, never knowing which version would greet the mirror each morning.

Make a melee attack with a speed-infused punch. On a hit, deal 3d10 lightning damage and the target must succeed on a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw or be stunned until the end of their next turn.
Dimensional Slip
Teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. After teleporting, make one melee attack as a bonus action.
Apex Calamity Unleashed
As a reaction to taking damage, transform into The Apex Calamity for 1 minute. Gain advantage on all attack rolls and deal an additional 2d6 necrotic damage on melee attacks.
Kinetic Wave
Release a wave of kinetic energy in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 18 Strength saving throw, taking 6d8 force damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success.
Split Persona
At the start of each of your turns, roll a d20. On a roll of 10 or lower, The Apex Calamity takes control for that turn, gaining a +2 to all attack rolls and dealing an additional 1d8 damage.
