Character
Durrik Stoneward
Created by XanaSnacksDurrik Stoneward was born the seventh son of a disgraced mining clan whose patriarch had led an expedition into the Obsidian Depths seeking legendary ore veins whispered about in ancient texts, only to trigger a catastrophic collapse that killed half the clan and sealed the mines forever. Shamed and exiled, young Durrik swore he would restore his family's honor not through reckless treasure-hunting, but through honest steel and unwavering protection of those foolish enough to venture into danger without proper safeguards. Over decades of mercenary work and expeditions, he earned a reputation as an immovable wall—a dwarf whose word was iron and whose shield had never failed a companion in need. When the Starbound Seekers formed around the obsessive scholar Seris and her fixation on Star Shards, Durrik joined not out of belief in their cause, but because he recognized kindred spirits who needed someone to keep them from repeating his family's fatal mistakes. His skepticism about ancient powers and his constant warnings stem not from cowardice but from hard-won wisdom purchased in blood and regret. Though others dismiss him as a pessimistic curmudgeon, Durrik has become the group's true anchor—the one person each member knows will be standing beside them when the darkness closes in, regardless of the cost.
