Anomalous Maladies & Afflictions of Mind

Created by Juxt_attack_ack

This leather-bound grimoire documents a vast taxonomy of afflictions that defy conventional understanding—maladies born of unnatural forces, parasitic entities of pure thought, and conditions that blur the line between sickness and transformation. Within its yellowed pages are detailed accounts of disorders that may manifest without physical cause, strike at the very essence of one's being, or persist despite all mundane remedies. The journal's author meticulously distinguishes between genuine supernatural ailments and those deliberately counterfeited by cunning entities, noting with evident concern that some conditions appear to possess their own malevolent agency. Particular emphasis is placed upon transmissible afflictions of consciousness—parasites that nest within the mind itself, corrupting thought and memory while leaving the body unmarred. The most dire entries describe cases of "Summary Dissolution," wherein the barriers between self and surroundings, thought and flesh, reality and delusion catastrophically collapse. A reader consulting this tome might gain insight into otherworldly plagues and eldritch infections, though the knowledge itself may come at a price; some scholars whisper that studying these accounts too deeply may present their very own cognitive and intellectually hazardous risks.
