Biography

In ages past, before the world's kingdoms rose to prominence, there existed a tyrant-king of the Giants named Morthazul who ruled through cruelty and domination. His prized possession was a magnificent war-horse, a creature of unmatched beauty and grace that he rode into countless battles, using it as a symbol of his invincibility. When a coalition of heroes finally toppled Morthazul's reign, they slew the horse alongside its master, but the beast's suffering was so profound, its bond to its cruel master so twisted, that its dying screams tore a wound between worlds. Into that wound poured something ancient and malevolent—an entity that had long hungered for a vessel through which to corrupt the material realm. It seized the horse's corpse and twisted it into an abomination, binding the crown of the dead king to its skull, a trophy of domination that would forever mark it as a force beyond mortal comprehension. For centuries, Hrughaz has dwelt in the spaces between existence, watching civilizations rise and fall, waiting for worthy servants to bend to her inexorable will. She feeds on beauty corrupted and innocence defiled, taking particular pleasure in turning the virtuous toward darkness and the hopeful toward despair. When Inzalea Zayne called out in her moment of deepest anguish—broken, vengeful, and desperate for power—Hrughaz recognized a kindred spirit and extended an offer of dominion that no mortal could refuse. The entity cares nothing for the typical ambitions of lesser beings; she seeks only to mar creation itself, to turn defenders into tyrants and light into shadow, using her slaves as instruments of cosmic discord. The accursed ropes she binds them with are more than mere restraints—they are chains of eternal servitude, extensions of Hrughaz's will that pulse with the same ghostly fire that burns behind her empty eyes. Hrughaz may choose to appear either as a rotting horse or a humanoid woman with horses hooves as feet. Powers are limited by projectin
