Thiazi Ironbark

Born into the shipwright clans of Kirov Prime, Thiazi Ironbark inherited both a family name and a curse—an inexplicable sensitivity to the void that would plague his dreams with whispers of things that should not exist. Rather than succumb to madness like his father before him, young Thiazi enlisted in the royal fleet, believing structure and purpose might silence the voices. His instincts proved uncanny; he predicted enemy movements with supernatural precision and seemed to sense danger before instruments could register it, earning him rapid promotion through the ranks. At one hundred years old, when most of his kind retired to ancestral halls, Thiazi accepted command of the KVN Lichbrün and finally understood his curse's true nature—he could perceive the shadow entities that lurked between stars, ancient parasites that fed on the fear and chaos of lesser beings. When those horrors breached Kirovan space in a coordinated assault that should have annihilated the fleet, Thiazi's crew witnessed their captain transform into something equally terrifying, his body scarring with each entity he personally destroyed, as if the void itself was marking him as its sworn enemy. Now, two decades into his hunt, the man once called a decorated hero has become the "Butcher of Horrors," a figure both revered and feared by his own people, uncertain whether he fights to protect the kingdom or to silence the cosmic whispers that still echo through his fractured mind.

Thiazi channels the whispers of the void, allowing him to cast 'Fear' as a 3rd-level spell without expending a spell slot.

As a reaction when taking damage, Thiazi can absorb the pain, reducing the damage by 1d10 + his Constitution modifier, and deal that amount as necrotic damage to a creature within 30 ft.
