Manifesting as a black, shadowy vapor with piercing yellow eyes, Kort possesses the ability to shapeshift into a human form, luring its prey with false promises of power and riches. Once ensnared, the victims are forced into a life of servitude, their very essence being drained to sustain Kort's insatiable hunger for mental anguish. Many have tried to escape Kort's clutches, but the weight of their torment often drives them to take their own lives, forever denying Kort the satisfaction of recapturing them. Yet, a select few have managed to break free, forever marked by the sight of Kort's true form, a revelation that renders the demon powerless to conceal its true nature, dooming it to wander the mortal realm, forever seeking new victims to enslave and torment.

Kort targets one creature it can see within 60 feet. The target must succeed on a DC 18 Intelligence saving throw or take 6d8 psychic damage and Kort regains hit points equal to half the damage dealt.

Shapeshift

Kort can use its action to polymorph into a Medium humanoid or back into its true form. Its statistics remain the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.

Whispers of Despair

Kort can whisper dark thoughts to a creature it can see within 30 feet. The target must succeed on a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw or be incapacitated until the end of its next turn, overwhelmed by visions of its greatest fears.

Summon Shadows

Kort can summon 1d4 shadowy minions (use Shadow stats) that obey its commands. They remain for 1 minute or until they are reduced to 0 hit points.

Dark Presence

Creatures within 30 feet of Kort must succeed on a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened until the end of their next turn.
