Alaneo Magnetic

Alaneo Magnetic was born in a village that existed only on certain days of the week, the child of a cartographer who mapped territories that shifted with the seasons and a storyteller whose tales became true if enough people believed them. When he came of age, he discovered he possessed an uncanny ability to sense when fiction threatened to bleed into fact, and when reality threatened to become nothing more than legend—a gift inherited from both parents, though perfected through years of solitary meditation at the threshold places where the world grows thin and uncertain. The beasts embroidered across his weathered coat represent creatures he has encountered in those liminal spaces: some that were real but are now forgotten, others that were only stories until he witnessed them take breath and bone. His role as a border ranger emerged not from any formal appointment, but from a desperate need to maintain equilibrium between what is and what is told, standing watch at the fence that divides the two realms with a hand always pressed to the rail, feeling for the vibrations of narratives attempting to cross over. He learned that every story carries weight and intention, and that some must be permitted passage while others must be turned back before they can alter the fundamental nature of existence. Alaneo walks his patrol alone, the only guardian most people will never know they needed, listening in the dark for the next tale that would remake the world.
