Lightining Rod

Created by MajesticSeer3051

This iron rod stands approximately six feet in length with a sharpened point at one end and an ornate copper crown at the top. When driven firmly into the ground, it creates a protective aura that attracts all lightning and electrical energy within a hundred-foot radius. Any lightning spell cast by a creature, whether friend or foe, will be drawn inexorably toward the rod instead of its intended target. The rod channels this tremendous electrical power safely into the earth, where it dissipates harmlessly. A creature holding or standing within ten feet of an active Lightning Rod gains immunity to lightning damage from spells and magical effects. The rod remains effective as long as it remains planted in solid ground and has not been damaged. Once struck by lightning, the rod must be left undisturbed for one hour before it can be moved without losing its protective properties. The copper crown glows with a faint blue light whenever lightning magic is nearby, serving as a warning to those who know its significance.
