Rather than grant him death as mercy, the leviathan cursed him to eternal undeath—a captain neither living nor deceased, bound to command the very waters that rejected his soul, forever sailing the seas as a phantom lord of the drowned. Now, centuries have passed since Vane last walked upon solid ground, and his obsession has twisted into something darker: a hunger to collect more cursed treasures, more sunken artifacts, believing that one day he might amass enough power to break his chains and reclaim the mortality that was stolen from him.
