Lazurite

Lazurite was once a master jeweler's apprentice who discovered an ancient geode containing a sentient crystalline consciousness that had slumbered for millennia beneath the earth. When he opened the stone to harvest its gems, the entity consumed him entirely, reforming his body into living lazurite while preserving his memories and ambitions. Transformed into something neither fully alive nor dead, Lazurite became obsessed with the irony that the most beautiful things in nature—gems, minerals, precious stones—were born from pressure and suffering, and he decided humanity deserved the same brutal refinement. He forged a sword from meteorite iron and his own crystalline essence, a weapon that could shatter mountains and souls alike, and began his campaign to reshape civilization through calculated devastation. What few realize is that Lazurite experiences genuine anguish with each terrible act he commits, as the human consciousness trapped within the mineral prison screams against the alien intelligence that now commands his actions. He leaves behind catastrophes that shimmer with an almost beautiful iridescence, leading some to call him the Gemstone Reaper—a being caught between two natures, unable to stop the destruction his new form compels him to inflict upon the world.
